Reliance Tennessee Gravel
In the heart of the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains about an hour east of Chattanooga, Tennessee, lies the tiny community of RELIANCE. Perched on the banks of the Hiwassee River, Reliance serves as a gateway to hundreds of miles of incredibly scenic gravel roads in the Cherokee National Forest, and we're excited to showcase this outdoor mecca with a weekend of gravel grinding fun April 27-28, 2024! Registration for this deep woods gravel grinder is capped at 200 total riders and no more than 150 male participants.

Chattanooga Outdoor Festival
Gear up for adventure! Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages are invited to experience the inaugural Chattanooga Outdoor Festival, hosted by Outshine Adventures and Nomad be Happy, on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This exciting event, sponsored by Rock Creek, TVA, Chattanooga Tourism, and Roamstead, will celebrate the diverse outdoor adventures Chattanooga has to offer, with activities, vendors, live music, and more!
Nestled in the heart of downtown Chattanooga in the newly renovated Choo Choo Gardens, the Chattanooga Outdoor Festival will be a vibrant hub for outdoor enthusiasts and the outdoor curious to explore new hobbies, discover local businesses, demo the latest gear, and connect with the community. The festival will feature:
Exhibitor Booths: Explore a diverse range of outdoor gear, apparel, and services from local businesses, regional brands, conservation and nonprofit organizations.
Interactive Activities: Discover a new outdoor hobby and participate in exciting activities led by local experts that put your outdoor skills to the test.
Live Music and Entertainment: Enjoy live music throughout the day and watch engaging demonstrations that could inspire your next outdoor adventure.
Food and Beverages: Savor delicious food and refreshing drinks from local vendors while enjoying the festival atmosphere.
Kids' Zone: Keep the little ones entertained with fun activities and games designed to spark their love for the outdoors.
Educational Workshops: Learn new skills and gain valuable knowledge from expert-led workshops on topics like camping, hiking, and conservation.
Sustainability and Stewardship: With the help of New Terra Compost and conservation forward community partners, this event will be low waste and to further their efforts of being good stewards of the environment, the event hosts organized a litter clean up the following day at Harrison Bay State Park.
Festival admission is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance to be entered for a chance to win an outdoor adventure vacation package including a weekend campervan rental from Nomad Be Happy, camping at Roamstead, rafting with Adventures Unlimited and more.

Walden's Ridge Park Grand Opening

Aetna Mountain Trails Grand Opening
Tennessee River Gorge Trust is opening the first phase of Aetna Mountain Trails on September 29 at 2:00 PM ET. There will be light refreshments and a few remarks to officially open the trail.

LiveWire Bridge Repair at Raccoon Mountain
Anyone and everyone is welcome to this volunteer event! No prior trail maintenance experience required. If you don't have carpentry or trail work experience, that's OK! We have to carry the boards from our vehicles to the bridges and many hands make light work!
Our primary goal is to repair bridges on LiveWire 2 on Raccoon Mountain. We will supply all tools, materials, and supplies. If we have extra hands and extra time, we will work to improve the trail drainage for the trail in the general vicinity of the bridge.
Please read the information below if you register and plan to attend the event.
Be sure to bring:
Sturdy work boots or shoes (no open-toed shoes or sandals)
Long pants/sleeves if insects/ticks are a concern. Bug spray is recommended too!
Work glove and eye protection. We will have some on hand if you don’t already have your own.
Easy to carry hydration (Hydration pack or clip-on water bottles recommended)
A desire to have some fun and learn!
All tools will be provided and there will be water and trail snacks to go around. If you have a cordless impact drivers or drill and extra batteries, bring those too!
We will meet at Massengale Point parking area. There are gravel areas on both sides of the road for parking. Look for a red Toyota Tundra with a red camper shell pulling a black and silver trailer. There you will sign a liability waiver and receive instructions.
This trail workday is capped to a limit of 10. Please keep an eye out for future workdays if this one is full!

SORBA Chattanooga Group Ride + Happy Hour at Lula Lake
Calling all SORBA Members! Join us at Lula Lake Land Trust on August 8 at 6 PM for a special edition of our monthly group ride and happiest hour! We're stoked to be partnering with Lula Lake to offer this special event just for our members! We will shred the singletrack trails on the core property, catch a view of the waterfall, then head back to the main field to enjoy some cold brews for the happiest golden hour there ever was!
This event is only open to SORBA members . A signed waiver is required to participate. The trails at Lula Lake are rated as intermediate and moderately challenging. There is an option to ride the 1 mile gravel road out to the waterfall and back. (2 miles round trip and a great family friendly option)
Donations are greatly appreciated and all proceeds will go back to SORBA and Lula Lake's Durham Mine Trails so we can continue to upkeep the region's amazing trail systems.

Aetna Mountain Trails Preview + Meet the Builders
Tennessee River Gorge Trust is building 4 miles of new trails on Aetna Mountain and here's your chance to get a sneak peek and talk to the folks building these amazing new trails. There will be drinks and light hors d'oeuvres for those in attendance.

Directions: 2924 River Gorge Drive- This address for a model home before you reach the trailhead. Continue to follow the signs to the trailhead on River Gorge Drive. The trailhead is located in a hairpin curve.
