5-Points is comprised of almost 20 miles of purpose built, mountain bike single track trails that was opened in the fall of 2011.

The trails at 5 Points have everything from long cross country pedals to fast, flowy downhills. It is a great place to get in a long ride on a cool weekend.

Combine it with the Durham Mine Trails and you can ride 30+ miles without riding the same trail twice if you get creative.

  • Located just under 20 miles (30 minutes) from downtown Chattanooga. Parking is located off Hinkle Road and another a lot is located off Ascalon Road.

AETNA MOUNTAIN TRAILS

Best for: Beginner to Intermediate Riders

Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

The newest addition to the Chattanooga trail scene brought to you by the Tennessee River Gorge Trust.

The first 4 miles of trails in what will eventually be a 12 mile trail system provide fund for riders of all abilities.

We are excited what this trail system will add to our local trail scene once it is all built out.

  • Parking can be found off of River Gorge Drive after you drive through the Black Creek subdivision.

BOOKER T. WASHINGTON STATE PARK

Best for: Beginner to Intermediate Riders

Hours: 7:00 AM to Sunset

Situated on the shores of scenic Chickamauga Lake not far from downtown Chattanooga is the 353-acre Booker T. Washington State Park.

The trails at Booker T consist of three loops for a total of 7.3 miles of beginner and intermediate single track.

  • Parking lots with the most convenient trail access are either the upper lot (first one on your right, near the pool) or at the lower lot by the pavilion and restrooms.

DURHAM MINE TRAILS

Best for: Beginner to Advanced Riders

Hours: Dawn to Dusk
Cost: $5 Day Use (per vehicle)

The Durham Mile Trails allow you to experience the feeling of riding in a remote forest close to downtown Chattanooga.

Built and owned by the Lula Lake Land Trust, the trails at Durham provide a remote riding experience for all abilities.
You can link these trails to the trails at 5 Points for an all day adventure.

  • There is ample parking off of Durham Road.

  • LLLT now has a backcountry campsite located at the Durham Mine Trails. This remote campsite is located off the E. Fuggett Branch trail and is a minimum of a 1.6-mile hike from the Durham Mine Trailhead. Reservations are required and there is a $5 per person fee. There is currently one campsite and has a capacity for four tents. We hope to open two more campsites and a moldering privy in the future.

ENTERPRISE SOUTH
NATURE PARK

Best for: Beginner Riders

Hours: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Enterprise South is one of the most popular trail systems in the Chattanooga area.

Popular for it's beginner-friendly flowing trails, park facilities, and the security of a ranger staff, ESNP is perfect for the whole family.

  • Ample parking at either the ranger station, or approximately a half of a mile down Poe Run Road.

RACCOON MOUNTAIN

Best for: Intermediate to Advanced Riders

Hours: Sunrise to 7:30 PM (CST)

Raccoon Mountain is made up of several trails that circle the TVA Raccoon Mountain pumped storage facility. The trails present a variety of riding environments that can be best described as intermediate and advanced.

Select trails are fairly smooth without much elevation change and can be considered beginner-friendly; however, this type of trial only makes up approximately 10% of the entire system.

  • Boat Ramp Trailhead:
    Immediate Access to the bottom of Livewire 2 and High Voltage

    East Overlook:
    Immediate access to Electric Avenue 1 and East Rim trials.

    Laurel Point:
    Immediate access to Electric Avenue 2, Laurel Point, and River Gorge trails

    Restrooms, Picnic Area, Ample Parking

    Bike wash and repair stands

    Massengale Point:
    Immediate Access to the bottom of Livewire 1, and the Top of Livewire 2

STRINGER’S RIDGE

Best for: Beginner to Intermediate Riders

Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

Stringer’s Ridge is the local’s goto, in town trail system. Some call is the Central Park of Chattanooga.

It is great for a quick spin before or after work with punchy uphills and smooth downhills.

  • There is a small parking lot at the End of Spears Avenue.

WALDEN’S RIDGE

Best for: Intermediate to Advanced Riders

Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

Walden’s Ridge Park is the most progressive, downhill oriented PUBLIC bike park in the country.

The trails will allow you to hone your downhill riding and jumping skills on some of the most progressive trails in the area. For folks that are looking to keep you wheels on the ground, Walden’s Ridge also offers great cross country riding experiences on the climbing and traverse trails.

  • There are two parking lots for Walden’s Ridge Park:

    The upper lot is a smaller, gravel lot located just off the W Road, right before you enter the switch backs.

    The lower is a larger, paved lot located off of Mountain Creek Road.

WHITE OAK MOUNTAIN

Best for: Beginner to Intermediate Riders

Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

White Oak is a great trail system for both beginners and more experienced riders.

You can choose the longer pedals of Southern Cross or hit up the fast downhill trails of Cottontail and Nutty Buddy.

  • Located on the Campus of Southern Adventist College - the college has generously provided parking at the trailhead.
