Enterprise South Nature Park

Chattanooga’s Family Friendly Flow Network

A young boy wearing a blue helmet and colorful shirt rides a mountain bike on a trail in the woods, with a woman behind him.

If you're new to mountain biking, or bringing someone who is, Enterprise South Nature Park is your starting point. Spread across 2,800 acres of protected forest just 20 minutes northeast of downtown, this welcoming trail system pairs smooth, approachable singletrack with one of the most fascinating trail settings anywhere in the Southeast. The land was once home to the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant, a World War II–era facility that manufactured explosives for the U.S. military. Today, massive concrete ammunition storage bunkers rise from the forest floor like ruins from another era, and the most beloved trail in the system, TNT, takes riders directly through one of them.

With a ranger staff on site, a visitor center, restrooms, picnic areas, paved paths, and more than 15 miles of purpose-built singletrack, Enterprise South is built for access and comfort, welcoming families, youth groups, beginner riders, and anyone looking for a relaxed afternoon in the woods.

Stacking Loops

Distance: 9.9 miles
Elevation Gain: 687 ft
Difficulty: Easy to Intermediate
Start/End: Black Forest Trailhead

Three linked loops — Black Forest, TNT, and Log Rhythm — make this the perfect introduction to Enterprise South. Don't miss riding through the WWII ammunition bunker on TNT. Multiple road crossings let you shorten the ride anytime, making it ideal for new riders and families with younger kids. (Shorten by skipping Log Rhythm, the most challenging of the 3 trails.)

Atlas to TNT Flow Loop
