White Oak Mountain
RIDGE RIDING ABOVE THE VALLEY
Just 25 minutes east of Chattanooga near Collegedale, White Oak Mountain offers one of the most diverse and rewarding trail experiences in the region. Stretching from valley floor to exposed ridgeline across 800+ forested acres owned by Southern Adventist University, this 25-mile stacked loop network delivers something for nearly every style of rider. Start easy on smooth cross-country trails near the trailhead. Climb higher and the trail character shifts dramatically: roots, rocks, and loose stone create technical challenges for more advanced riders.
Two things make White Oak Mountain stand out beyond its trail quality: exceptional drainage and exceptional hours. The rocky soil sheds water faster than almost any other system in the region, making these trails rideable sooner after rain. And with trails open until 10 PM daily, White Oak has become Chattanooga's go-to destination for night riding.
