Hamilton County has kicked off a month-long contract with IMBA Trail Solutions and McGill Trails — in partnership with SORBA Chattanooga — to maintain and improve the downhill mountain bike trails within the Walden's Ridge Park system. This Saturday, we need YOUR help.
With funding from SORBA Chattanooga, we're piloting an exciting new product called Trail Armor — a geotextile, carpet-like material designed to reduce erosion and slow the typical wear and tear on high-traffic trail surfaces. We're eager to see how this innovative approach improves trail longevity and rider experience on one of the most popular trail systems in the county.
What you'll be doing:
Cutting and preparing Trail Armor for installation
Prepping the trail surface alongside IMBA Trail Solutions' professional trail builders
No prior experience needed — just a willingness to work and learn! This is a rare opportunity to work side-by-side with professional trail builders and be part of something that will have a lasting impact on the trails we all love.
Space is extremely limited — only 20 volunteers will be accepted. RSVP is required in advance.
Stay tuned for ongoing volunteer opportunities while IMBA Trail Solutions remains on site through early June.
